Clarence, another cigarette?
I love late night cigarettes and dry red wine
I love the indulgence and the secrecy of a late-night smoke in good company
I love the way a cigarette pulls a bubble around a gathering and the intimacy it commands
For in the indulgence, all others are forced away
I love the way the smoke trails through words and fingertips
and in between sips of the red, the smoke smells sweeter
But most of all, I love the taste of kissing
with cigarettes still heavy on our tongues
I love the indulgence and the secrecy of a late-night smoke in good company
I love the way a cigarette pulls a bubble around a gathering and the intimacy it commands
For in the indulgence, all others are forced away
I love the way the smoke trails through words and fingertips
and in between sips of the red, the smoke smells sweeter
But most of all, I love the taste of kissing
with cigarettes still heavy on our tongues
